I hope you are ready.......we are in for a VERY fun and busy week! Monday our class will visit the book fair and it is also first grade slushy day! Yum! Wednesday is our long awaited field trip to the Montgomery Zoo. In celebration of Earth Day on Thursday the "Talking Tree" will come and speak to our first graders about the importance of helping recycle and other things we can do to help save our planet! FIELD DAY is Friday. I can't think of a better way to end such an eventful week. I will send home more information about our field trip and field day later on this week. As always, we will still be learning many new things in first grade, we want to be READY for second grade!

Spelling ~ We will have our Spelling Test this THURSDAY due to Field Day on Friday.

Language ~ This week we will be learning about ANTONYMS. We will not have DOL sentences this week. We will be doing various activities to help us become familiar with antonyms. We will have a graded activity on ANTONYMS & SYNONYMS on Thursday.

MATH ~ We will begin Chapter 22 on Monday. Homework this week will be the pages in the practice workbook from Chapter 22. Also, continue to practice addition and subtraction each night.

April 19 - First Grade SLUSHY DAY! Please send in $1 if your child would like a slushy.
April 19-22 Book Fair - First Grade will visit on Monday, but your child can visit another day if they bring money. Monday is just the only day we go as a "CLASS".
April 19-25 Food Drive (drop off during morning carpool)
April 21 - Zoo Field Trip.......finally!!
April 22 - Earth Day ~ Speaker - The Talking Tree will visit 1st grade classrooms!
April 22 - Spirit Night @ Cucos (send receipt to school)
April 23 - FIELD DAY!! 1st Grade Time is 8:15-9:55
