December 7-11, 2009

It's the most wonderful time of the year!! I just love the month of December! We are so very busy in Room 123. Reading, writing, working with numbers and makings lots of Christmas crafts! I love seeing the excitement in all of the children during the holidays. Take a look at what we are doing this week!

READING
Our whole group sound for this week is /ar/ as in star. We will also have several Christmas related activities this week. This may be in the form of a writing job or something to display in the class.

MATH
We are on Chapter 12 in math. This chapter is about skip counting by 2's, 5's and 10's. Homework for math will be lessons 12 in the Practice Math Workbook. We will try to test on Thursday or Friday.

LANGUAGE - (DOL)
We have covered rules 1-11. These rules can be found in your child's take home notebook. *Please Note* There is no rule for adjectives on the Grammar Rules sheet in your child’s notebook. We will continue to practice Rules 1-11 and adjectives in the sentences this week. We will also learn about pronouns this week.

~Classroom Needs~
Several of the children are in need of new crayons and markers. Please send these in when you get a chance. If you want to go ahead and pick up a couple of extra packs, the children can keep them in their locker and use them as needed. Everyone colors better with new crayons!:)
